Joey Concepcion is an upcoming rock guitar sensation hailing from Orange, Connecticut USA. At only 20 years old, he possesses talent way beyond his years. From passionately expressive solos to burning shred, he is turning many heads in the industry with his advanced playing maturity.
In 2008, Michael Vescera (vocalist for Yngwie Malmsteen, Loudness, and Obsession) asked Joey to make a guest appearance on his latest solo album released in 2008. Then only 17 years old, the guitar solos Joey provided on the album "Sign of things to come" proved to critics that he is force to be reckoned with in the rock guitar arena. Other musicians on the album include Joe Stump (Holy Hell), Mats Oluassen (Yngwie Malmsteen), "Metal" Mike Chasiak (Halford, Pain Museum, Sebastian Bach), Chris McCarvill (Dokken, House of Lords, Jeff Scott Soto, Obsession), and Jimi Bell (House of Lords). The project captured rave reviews from around the world.
In 2009, Joey began working on his project, Chaos Embrace, recording the EP "The Calling" produced and engineered by the legendary Michael Vescera. This was independently released summer 2010 to great reviews. Late 2010 Joey joined local thrashers Oath of Insanity consisting of Drummer Joey DiBiase (Son of Ex:Fates Warning Bassist Joe DiBiase) Bassist and Vocalist Dan McVerry and Guitarist Anthony Madonna. Writing songs for their debut self titled EP, Joey and Oath is firing up the metal circuit putting out a new brand of young rebellious in your face heavy aggressive thrash metal. Look for Joey playing the Connecticut Metal Circuit! You will also see him playing live as a guest guitarist with Obsession featuring Mike Vescera when Scott Boland is unavailable with prior commitments.
Joey is currently an instructor at Route 1 Guitars in Milford, CT.
